It is planed by Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT) to offer software for the ipone, saying in a recent interview that developers are considering a variety of possibilities that include offering Office functionality on Apple’s smart phone. Microsoft’s focus on the iPhone stems from Apple’s release of a software development kit this month. The iPhone SDK, released in beta, gives developers access to the same tools Apple developers use for building applications that run on the iPhone’s Max OS X-based operating system. In an interview with Fortune magazine, published online Tuesday, Tom Gibbons, corporate VP of Microsoft’s Specialized Devices and Applications Group, said the software maker was looking closely at the SDK and considering its options.

Last week, Apple company announced that they are going to enter into the mobile-game business. The company, estimates that it will sell about 10 million iPhones by the end of 2008. But same pace of growth at other manufacturers’ end i.e. Nokia with N82 and latest developments in Blackberry, Apple’s iPhone will have to face too many challenges. So the company is trying to make it easier for third-party developers to make cool stuff for the sleek, sexy devices. It means, that the more cool stuff the more phones will be sold. And there is nothing coolset than mobile phone games.

This is the tale of Mike Beauchamp of Kansas. It’s reported that he rested his Lovebrick on the trunk of his car and didn’t remember it until he’d been driving on the highway a good 15 minutes. Returning to the scene of the boo-boo, he got back just in time to see his phone get run over by an 18-wheel truck barreling along at full speed, but to his surprise, it was all well with full functions.
Yes, there were some scratches on the device, but its functionality didn’t get disturbed at all. Amazing!

While browsing latest news about Apple iPhone, I’ve come across something not new. This is not new because the increased production aiming to generate more revenues has always been the ultimate strategy by big shots like Apple. The thing that made me to think was the consumption in fact, i.e. so many people with iPhone!
The story I’ve read can be found here , I’m just quoting a part of it here, i.e. related to my theme.
Apple’s iPhone is a multimedia and internet-enabled wireless device that was launched earlier this year in the US, and this month in Europe. The company is in talks to take it to China too. Merrill Lynch reported that Apple would only be shipping 4 million iPhones this year, but 12 million units will be shipped in 2008.
The company, according to sources, is talking to both telecom service providers and retailers, to bring the device to India. HCL Infosystems and Wipro Technologies were also reported to be close to becoming Indian distributors of the iPhone. Reliance Retail, which already has an electronics retail venture Reliance Digital, also figured in the list of potential partners.
The article was about the impact of iPhone on Indian Economy. Not sure whether it’ll have any sort of effect on Pakistani Economy as well or not. Well, let’s see what happens!
